MIT-Spain Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Seed Fund

 

La Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y el Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) llevan promoviendo la colaboración en investigación desde la firma de un Statement of Intent en el año 1988. Desde entonces, se han desarrollado actividades de investigación y formación tanto en el MIT como en la UPM. Más recientemente, en el año 2016, la UPM se incorporó al MIT¬UPM Seed Fund, un fondo para proyectos semilla que permite, a cambio de una aportación dineraria al fondo, participar en las convocatorias de proyectos conjuntos del MIT. En estos años, se han concedido 28 proyectos de investigación conjuntos con retornos económicos incluso por encima de la cuantía de la aportación.

El objetivo del MIT-Spain UPM Seed Fund es apoyar proyectos colaborativos entre el MIT y la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid en áreas identificadas de interés común, incluyendo el intercambio de estudiantes y de profesores

El MIT promueve ayudas Seed Fund para proyectos de investigación colaborativa en fase inicial entre centros e investigadores del MIT y sus homólogos en la UPM. La UPM contribuye al MIT Spain UPM Seed Fund con la cantidad de 125.000$ anuales. Este fondo es administrado por el programa MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) dentro de la estrategia global de fondos semilla del MIT. El MISTI lanza una convocatoria anual de propuestas abierta en el MIT. En el contexto de la misma, investigadores de la UPM podrán participar en propuestas conjuntamente con investigadores del MIT. El MISTI se encarga de la infraestructura, organización, procesos y comité de evaluación de los proyectos susceptibles de beneficiarse de la ayuda.
