Objectives The primary objective of the Degree in Building Engineering is to train highly qualified individuals in the field of building to work as professionals with a solid scientific and technical grounding in Technical Architecture.
General objectives
  • To train professionals capable of directing the physical execution of building projects and associated facilities and elements, being in charge of qualitative and quantitative control of constructions by establishing and managing plans for control of materials, project systems and execution, as well as making the corresponding entries for registration in the official documentation relating to the building (Libro del Edificio).
  • To train professionals capable of overseeing the economics of the project by preparing the corresponding certifications and terminating the project.
  • To train professionals capable of drawing up workplace health and safety plans and coordinating the activity of companies in this respect in construction projects, both during initial stages and execution, with the ability to oversee workplace risks involved in construction activity.
  • To train professionals capable of carrying out activities related to calculations, measuring, evaluations, economic appraisal and feasibility studies, carrying out expert assessments, inspections, pathology studies and other analyses and writing the corresponding reports, statements and technical documents, and preparing floor plans on plots and in buildings.
  • To train professionals capable of preparing technical projects and managing building projects within the applicable legal framework.
  • To train professionals capable of administering new building technologies, taking part in quality management processes in building and analysing, assessing and certifying energy efficiency analyses, and studying building sustainability.
  • To train professionals capable of directing and managing the use, preservation and maintenance of buildings and preparing the technical documents required.
  • To train professionals capable of conducting studies on the lifetime of materials, construction systems and buildings.
  • To train professionals capable of managing construction and demolition waste treatment.
  • To train professionals capable of providing technical advice for the manufacturing processes of materials and elements used in the construction of buildings.

  • To train professionals capable of managing building processes in their entirety.
  • To train professionals capable of representing building companies on a technical basis in building projects.
