University Ombudsman

    The University Ombudsman is a figure introduced by the LOU whose mission is to look after the rights and freedoms of the teachers, students, and administration and service staff. Our objective is to carry out all of our actions in an effective and human manner in all areas of the UPM, and especially with a view to constantly improving the quality of the university.

    María Teresa González Aguado is the University Ombudsman of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She has held the post since taking possession in the Paraninfo before the Excmo. Sr. Rector Magnífico, on the 27th of February 2004. Her candidature was endorsed by 25 members of the Senate and had the support demanded by the Statutes which requires that the candidate obtain at least fifty percent of the votes of the members of the Senate.

    She is a Doctor of Mining Engineering at the UPM and University Professor in the Department of Geological Engineering in the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Minas (ETS of Mining Engineers). She has been the Head of Department, Deputy Head and Technical Secretary. She participated in the Commission that drew up the Statute project of the UPM and has been a member of the University Senate since her election as University Ombudsman.
