This work intends to show that some fusion algorithms proposed lately allow to control the trade-off between the spatial and spectral quality of fused images. Specifically, two fusion algorithms will be studied. One of them based on the Wavelet Transform, obtained by means of the à trous algorithm (TWA). The second method is based on a new transform that joints the simplicity of the TWA, with the provisions of multidirectional transforms, like the Contourlet Transform. This transform is implemented by means of an only directional filter bank of low computational complexity. From these two algorithms, a comparative study has been carried out, which has allowed to identify the fortitudes and weaknesses of each one of these fusion strategies and the potentialities presented by the capacity of controlling the spatial-spectral quality. | |
