The PhD candidate has been made an excellent research works during the last 3 years under my supervision. These works were center in two projects "Computer vision for UAVs" and "Visual control and guide of a new prototype of urban vehicle". His research work has been used and successfully transfer to an industrial project for Autonomous Ground Vehicle contracted with the company SIEMENS ESPAÑA S.A., where he has reached top technical responsibilities. He has also achieved excellent results in ?UAV control strategy for See & Avoid? during his six months research stay in ARCAA-QUT in Brisbane-Australia. I would like to mention that the quality of his work has been recognized by the scientific community through the publication of five papers in different journals with high JCR impact factor, three books chapters and 14 papers in congress and symposiums in the area of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and UAV. I highly recommend Mr. Miguel Ángel Olivares Méndez for collaborating during three months, from the first of February until the first of May, within the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (LIS) at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) inside the framework of the project myCopter, leader at the EPFL by Dr. Felix Stephan Schill and Dr. Jean-Christophe Zufferey.
