Abstract
The project that plans to study the dependence of the electronic structure of the thiospinels MgIn2S4 and CdIn2S4 on the degree of ?inversion? in the system. The inversion refers to the situation in which In and Mg or Cd exchange their position in the crystalline network. This gives rise to modifications in the electronic structure that can be interesting in the modelling of future solar cells of high efficiency (spinels are good candidates due to the presence of an ?intermediate levels? in the gap, ensuring an enhanced absorption of low energy photons).
