Abstract
Tungsten is proposed as first wall material in future fusion reactors ?It has good refractory properties, low activation rate and low tritium retention ?However, there exist serious concerns on W survivability under servere irradiation conditions ?In case of laser fusion with direct target, the intense helium pulses and the subsequent He retention lead to swelling, pore formation, sample exfoliation and embrittlement ?Object Kinetic Monte Carlo (OKMC) is the technique of choice to simulate the evolution of radiation-induced damage inside solids in large temporal and space scales ?We have used the OKMC code MMonCa (Modular Monte Carlo simulator) [1], developed at the IMDEA Materials Institute, to simulate the experimental conditions published by Renk [2] and to study how the He is retained inside the W simulation box
