Soybean mosaic virus (SMV), a memeber of the genus Potyvirus is one of the most important viral diseases of soybean in all soybean-producing regions worldwide. In 2011 some SMV isolates were collected from Mazandaran, Golestan, ardabil and Lorestan provinces in Iran. We determined full length genome sequences of four isolates and nucleotide sequence of P1, P3, 6K1, CI and CP of 21 other SMV isolates. Recombination analyses showed that the are many recombination events between SMV isolates. New recombination sites were detected between Iranian isolates and other isolates from the world. Analysis of genetic variation and population structure of SMV in Iran showed a single, undifferentiated population with low genetic diversity, highly differentitared from other SMV world populations | |
