Cover cropping may be a good alternative to diminish soil degradation by enhancing soil aggregation. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are an important promoter of soil aggregation through, among others, the action of extraradical hyphae and an insoluble hydrophobic proteinaceous substance named glomalin-related soil protein. Among enzymatic activities, ?-Glucosaminidase activity is considered a indicator of soil fungal biomass due to this enzyme produces chitin, component of fungal mycelia. This study was conducted over 6 years to evaluate the effect of replacing bare fallow by winter cover crops (CC) on some parameters related to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and their relationship with aggregate stability | |
