Abstract
In this paper, we explore the recently developed snapshot based Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) technique [2], to predict linear global flow instabilities. We apply the DMD mehtod for a variety of flows and compare the resulting modes to their counterparts issued from linear stability analysis (i.e. Biglobal analysis [3]) and flow solutions issued from Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS).
