Seminario de trabajo de la Red SOUNDS: The aim of SOUNDS is to bring together researchers from countries in the Global South and North to advance the study of the everyday experiences of incorporation of children of migrants (8-25 years of age). This collaboration seeks to: identify the ?South to North? knowledge that exists on this topic in countries of the Global South; facilitate the transfer of this knowledge in terms of the theoretical and empirical contributions made by scholars in Global South countries to the North, and develop collaboration which leads to new comparative understandings and innovative research. To extend macro-perspectives on the incorporation of the children of migrants into education and the labour markets in their host societies, SOUNDS focuses on the everyday experiences of integration of children/youth of migrant descent and considers how notions of belonging, cross-border connections, spirituality and citizenship play a part in configuring their narratives of inclusion/exclusion and membership. | |
