This paper presents the design, simulation and test of a resonant slot antenna subarray for satellite communications. The subarray design was done employing a software tool based on Taylor's one-parameter synthesis, and array factor and aperture models analysis. The final subarray design and the direct analysis, based in the array model, was compared with CST® Microwave Studio full wave analysis. Monte Carlo simulations of the array were carried out to account for modeling errors, as well as systematic and random errors resulting from the manufacturing process. The prototype's evaluation measurements give satisfactory results and validate the implemented tool. | |
