We present a methodology for the detection of critical nodes in a Public Transport Network, that is, those nodes (stops or lines) whose isolation would ause the maximum impact in the network connectivity. An attack on chosen nodes using different adaptive choice criteria is simulated. The first node to be isolated is the one with the largest value of a specific magnitude. Once that node is disconnected, the magnitude is re-estimated for all nodes in the resulting network to discover the next node to be disconnected. It should be noted that all the connections of the node will be removed, but node and passengers will be preserved. Taking into account, the effectiveness (estimated as decrease of the size of the giant component) of attacks has been compared based on the following magnitudes: degree, betweenness, modal analysis, damage, and Bonacich power centrality. | |
