| The ommission of the EU has recently launched an initiative to promote EU support mechanisms, such as subordinated loans or senior debt guarantees, to facilitate the feasibility of PPPs for he TEN?T, and to make long?term project bonds more appealing for institutional investors such as pension funds or insurance companies. This research will valuate the effects that the introduction of EU support mechanisms can have from several perspectives: 1) influence on the financial cost of the project, 3) the effect of the contingent liabilities assumed by the European Union 2), its effect on the incentives generated among the different stakeholders, and 4) its effect on welfare. | |
