At present, automotive industry is aware of the fact that the planet?s resources are limited and the demand of energetic resources like fossil fuels will increase due to the growth and industrialization of the emerging countries, not to mention the problems of air pollution and greenhouse gases derived from the combustion of fossil fuels. The increase of greenhouse gas and other pollutants regulations at EU, USA and Japan [1] forces the automotive industry to develop new alternatives for the propulsion of vehicles that diminish the dependence of fossil fuels reducing internal combustion engine exhaust gas emissions. In this context the industry and the research centers are developing multitude of research projects directed to provide a better knowledge of new developed technologies focused on vehicle and energy storage dimensioning, efficiency improvements, energy control strategies, etc. | |
