| Fast ignition of fusion targets is a good example of the multiple time scales found in inertial confinement fusion. Simulations of fast ignition of fusion targets carried out at the MareNostrum and Magerit High Performance Computers of the Spanish Supercomputing Network were presented. They comprise multidimensional radiation hydrodynamics, PIC (Particle-In-Cell) and hybrid simulations of fast ignition of imploded inertial fusion capsules. | |
