This paper explores the relationship between accessibility-related software standards, user modelling and adaptive systems. A brief introduction of standardisation is firstly presented with current relevant activities. The relationship between accessibility standards and user modelling or adaptive systems should be bidirectional. On the one hand, standards can provide valuable inputs. On the other hand, user modelling and adaptive system practitioners should be involved in standardisation work. The main risk is to have these two communities isolated and no collaborating with each other. | |
