Abstract
Species distribution models (SDMs) are powerful tools in forest management Validation of SDMs at landscape scale is vital for more reliable forestry strategies. The majority of SDM approaches do not address the question of resources optimization. Opportunistic sampling outperformed systematic sampling in predicting woody plant SDMs. Opportunistic sampling strategies could be a key cost-effective solution for supporting management.
