Automated driving is a field that has had numerous advances in recent years. Most of the advances are directed towards structured environments and for civil uses. This work presents an automated vehicle for the advance recognition of the terrain. For this, an off-road military vehicle has been used, automated with x-by-wire technology (steering and speed) and equipped with environment perception systems. Specifically, it has vision systems and a three-dimensional laser system. In this way, the vehicle can be teleoperated from a distance with the information relayed from the perception systems. On the other hand, this vehicle has been given the ability to automatically navigate to a certain position by using waypoints on the route. Furthermore, the automation kit has been designed in order not to difficult manual driving when necessary. | |
