Descripción
In recent decades, it is being studied the effect of adding nanoparticles (NP) to liquid dielectrics such as mineral oil used in power transformers. This mixture is commonly named as nanodielectic fluid (NDF). The results show that the addition of NP to mineral oil can allows to improve the thermal and dielectric performance of the base fluid. These effects are attributed to the fact that the NP are charged with the electrons produced during the streamer, reducing the speed and length of the streamer, since it goes from high-speed charges such as electrons, to NP loaded with a slower propagation speed. Due to the nature of these phenomena, the mathematical model that allows to study the streamer is complex and has a high number of variables, consequently it provides approximated results, but can be extrapolated to reality. Through the use of finite-elements software, it is shown that NDF based on NP of SiO 2 , TiO 2 and ZnO present a better thermal and dielectric performance than mineral oil when they are subjected to high-voltage (HV). The geometry used for the simulations is implemented according with the IEC-60897 standard with a gap of 25 mm in length. The HV was applied in the form of a step with a rise time of 10 ns. The simulations for all NDF have been carried out under the same conditions. Therefore, all NP have the same saturation charge so as to allow the comparison among the time constant effect that the NP have on the streamer electrodynamic process.
