The project aims at the definition of new rhizobial and legume traits involved in adaptation to specific hosts. A combination of pysiological, transcriptomic and proteomic analyses are designed to identify host-specific bacterial and plant factors involved in the fine-tuning of the symbiotic interaction. The use of a wide germplasm collection of legume accessions will pinpoint the relevance of the diversity of host environment in the Rhizobium legume symbiosis. The results will be of interest to gain further understanding of the Rhizobium-legume symbiosis and might be of application for the obtention of improved inoculants for legume crops. | |
