Retinal disorders causing visual impairment are present with high incidence in current world population. Identifying the pathology and working on an objective diagnosis is a key task in order to provide an accurate treatment for patients affected by any ocular disease. Support given by technical solutions, such as state-of-the-art biomedical imaging techniques and softwarebased analysis tools suppose a key factor that aids ophthalmologists? daily routine. In this work, a computer-based tool capable of segmenting and extracting volumetric information from macular Optical Coherence Tomography images of patients presenting some types of visual impairment has been developed.
