Humans are organized in social systems, which implies that our actions as individuals hold the potential to trigger spontaneous reactions in our peers, leading to complex dynamics. In order to understand human collective behavior, it is necessary to find the laws that relate the individual actions to the collective response of social systems. This topic has received considerable attention and has been approached from several perspectives [2, 1, 4, 5]. Our goal in this work is to unveil the mechanisms that drive the collective response of social systems to individual actions by developing models that describe the relationship between the intensity of the individual stimulus and the size of the collective response. | |
