3D printing technologies are of special interest in the manufacture of dental and orthopedical implants. Different patients and its necesities require implants with different shapes and sizes and interconected porous scaffolds are mandatory in bone regeneration applications. Calcium based cements has been widely used in one repair and regeneration applications. Self-setting properties allow easy shaping of pastes and following hardening in situ. This process occurs at room temperatures providing micrometric microstructures. For this resons, 3D printing of calcium phosphates cements is currently being studied. For the first time, the 3D printing of cements by Laser Induce Forward Transfer (LIFT) have been adressed. This technology is able to print small volumes increasing the printing resolution and allows to print structure ar biological dimensions range. | |
