Abstract
New small-scale hydro power plants are being built all over the world. Due to, in most cases, these power plants have lack significant storage capacity, the most adequate control strategy is usually to keep constant the water level at the intake basin to capture the maximum amount of energy from the river flow. In this paper, a novel fuzzy control of a diversion run of river hydro plant is considered using speed instead of wicket gates position as control variable.
