The use of computer programs to simulate the spreading of external noise is widely increasing. This paper compares the characteristics of frequently-used computer programs for external noise prediction according to Directive 2002/49/CE. A document review has been carried out to investigate the state-of-the-art, taking into consideration technical and acoustic means in accordance to that Directive and the latest versions of the acoustic softwares: Lima, Predictor, Cadna and SoundPLAN. In conclusion, there is a lack of information related to the methods, the validation quality of the results, and the deviation in relation to the real situation simulated. Key Words: noise prediction softwares, Directive 2002/49/CE. | |
