ISABEL is an advanced audio/video/data-conferencing application, which transforms standard PCs into an advanced mul-tipoint videoconferencing systems. ISABEL has been developed at the Department of Telematic Engineering of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (DIT-UPM) and is being commercialised by Agora Systems S.A. (www.agora-systems.com), a spin-off company of UPM created in June 1999. ISABEL has been extensively used and validated in real and world wide service trials since ABC'93 July 1993, where it was used for the first time. Since then, dozens of events have been performed, such as the RACE/ACTS Summer Schools on Advanced Broadband Communication, the tele-work experiments within Ericsson in TECODIS, the various Global 360 events, various distributed courses among Universities, ....
