The success of Web services technology depends on the possibility to discover and share services. These processes should take into account functional and non-functional properties of a service. Discovery and provision of Web services are performed in distributed environment and take place using registries like UDDI. Whereas the functionality of Web services is quite well covered by already known approaches, there is still an ongoing discussion on the scope and methods that should be used to express their non-functional side. The main aim of this article is to present an ontology of non-functional properties and show how it is used to perform service discovery in distributed environment on the example of the WebSter registry. | |
