| PISA is a four-year European Integrated Project of the Sixth Framework Programme 'Next Generation of Flexible Assembly Technology and Processes'. It is launched in September 2006 and involves eighteen partners from seven European countries that include four large companies, seven SME and seven research institutes. The aim of the project is to develop intelligent assist systems (IAS) that support human workers with qualified tools instead of replacing them. Such an integrative approach combines human creativity, intelligence, knowledge, flexibility, and skills as well as the advantages of sophisticated technical systems and tools, such as electronic and physical power, speed, and accuracy. | |
