In the processes of gasification and among them in the IGCC process, the sulphur contented in the fuels is found in the produced gas as H2S. In the proposed processes to eliminate or reduce the content of this gas is the use of economic earth alkaline sorbents as calcite or dolomite that has the advantage of working at high temperatures as 850ºC or 990 ºC. The adsorbed sulphur is chemically combined in form of CaS that is a product that presents some disadvantages because has not been able to be used as land filling by its reactivity since with the water produces again H2S. Then to deposit the CaS is necessary to carry out its oxidation and conversion into calcium sulphate that is an inert product and the unconverted product remains as Ca O. | |
