Ultrashort laser pulse filamentation in air or in condensed media constitutes a relatively simple way to achieve laser matter interaction and plasma channel generation over distances larger than the Rayleigh length. We propose the use of Bessel beams instead of loosely focused Gaussain beams as an interesting alternative way of retaining high intensities and uniform plasma channels over long propagation distances. | |
