The aim of this work is to analyze the crop distribution pattern of sugar beet around the processing plant,in order to transpose the model to a land availability study for the supply of a 100,000m3 bioethanol plant fed on Jerusalem artichoke(Helianthus tuberosus) tubers. The bioethanol plant location is based on the use os GIS tools over large areas of irrigated land in north Spain. According to the model developed, the sugar beet cultivation area decreases linearly with the road distance from the sugar plant to 25 km. The resulted Jerusalem artichoke cultivation area reached 167% of the plant capacity within a supply route distance of 25 km. | |
