This paper assesses the behaviour of impact sound insulation across superimposed spaces and their regulatory compliance, associating the importance of different noise transmission ways with the guidelines proposed by CTE DB-HR (Spanish Building Codes. Noise Insulation), and also gauging the effectiveness of introducing changes in the desing. To this purpose, different slab compositions and solutions to a similar scenario were analysed considering construction details, and also applying prediction tools provided in the CTE DB-HR where convenient, so that relevant conclusions could be drawn for each of the variables applicable during the study. Results show that, in order to bring down the field normalized impact sound pressure level (Ln, w) to 65 dB, it is necessary to introduce additional sound reduction measures, which involve the installation of floating flooring. | |
