This work proposes a self-tuning strategy of a directional filter bank used in the implementation of a fusion methodology for satellite images. It most innovative characteristic is its ability to control the trade off between the spatial and spectral quality of the fused images. The fusion methodology is based on a multiresolution-multidirection joint representation. This representation allows an accurate selection of the information extracted from the source images, due to its capacity for varying both the anisotropy degree and the form of the optical transference function of the directional filter bank involved. A directed search criterion has been proposed for a correct filter bank tuning, based on the optimization algorithm called Simulated Annealing. By means of this search criterion the solution-surface described by a particular objective function is analyzed and the parameters involved in the filter design are obtained. | |
