Lost space, has first appeared in the book Finding Lost Space: Theories of Urban Design (Van Nostrand Reinhold, New York) an urban design canon by Roger Trancik 1986. It was adopted to describe the spaces in America wich made no positive contribution to the surrongings or users, ill-defined, without measurable boundaries, and fail to connect elements in a coherent way. The spanish Port-City A Coruña is facing great opportunity to redevelop coastal tourism now. According to La Revisión del Plan General (The Revision of General Plan), wich highlights sustainability, tourism, waterfront redevelopment, culture and leisure, the government is ambitious to open A Coruña as an attractive touristic city in the metropolitan area. In this article, the meaning of lost space is extended to a tourist point of view. | |
