Abstract
We integrate the relativistic Fokker- Planck equation [1,2] by an almost analytical approach, we proceed as follows: (i) We make a Legendre expansion of the hyperbolic equation by a quasi analytical method, both with friction and polar dispersion: (ii) The resulting infinite system of ODE¿s is studied analytically by the complete diagonalization of the two matrices involved, the convective and the dispersive ones, and the properties of the mathematical structure are derived. The resulting system of ODE¿s is solved numerically. We observe that due to the absence of fields there is a threshold, below which the distribution function becomes zero evolving to higher values of the velocities as the plasma advances. We intend to study the energy deposition and the stopping power.
