Our goal is to determine to what extent the effects of both exogenous and endogenous factors can describe the variation of abundance in several different brown trout populations inhabiting separated basins in a large heterogeneous territory. To do this we tested whether the quantitative dynamics of abundance in a large heterogeneous territory involving several distinct populations could be described by determining to what extents exogenous and endogenous drivers describe the per capita population growth rate of a time series of population data, in a similar way as it has been done in smaller scales (Cattàneo et al. 2002; Lobón-Cerviá 2007). | |
