The objective of this study is determining the influence of the synthesis route in the microstructural and electric properties of the CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) prepared using two different TiO 2 polymorphs showing different crystalline structure and reactivity. CCTO was prepared by conventional synthesis (CS), including synthesis by solid state reaction following with a sintering process (CS), and through reaction sintering (RS), in which the synthesis and sintering of the materials is carried out in one single step. Microstructural characterization have been carried out by XRD, FE-SEM, EDS and AFM and electrical characterization by means impedance spectroscopy and I-V response to correlate the microstructure with the electrical behaviour. The use of different TiO 2 polymorphs gives place to microstructural differences. Samples prepared by reaction sintering show less dependence of the dielectric constant with the frequency and better I-V response. | |
