| This paper describes an algorithm to validate sensor measurements as well as to detect unit operations malfunctioning. The algorithm is based on the use of separate simulations of each unit (or set of units). The simulation is better deployed distributedly in order to have lower computational load. The dynamic models used are first-principles models but they do not always need to be complete. Only mass balances and, sometimes, energy balances are needed in some of the models. The architecture implementation is presented as well as an example illustrating how the algorithm works. | |
