A simple theoretical model of two section tapered lasers was proposed. To validate the model we compared its steady-state solution with the results provided by a steady-state Quasi-3D model. The input data for the calculations were obtained from the fits of the simulation results provided by the Quasi-3D model and from experimental data. To study the dynamic behavior of the tapered laser numerical calculations were performed. Based on the results, the interaction between carriers and photons in the ridge waveguide and tapered sections was analyzed. | |
