The creation of a Dairy Research Center in the National Experimental University of Guayana (UNEG) with the support of the Polytechnical University of Madrid (UPM) aims at strengthening the Engineering of Animal Production studies, both at the academic and the technological level with the enhancement of technological development in the production of cheese and its derivatives from pasteurized milk. The proposed methodology includes the exchange of technology between researchers from Spain and Venezuela, the design of graduate programs in dairy technology, the development of protocols and patents for Guayana and Buffalo cheeses and will encourage the upgrading of processing technology for artisans, farms and rural communities. This project will enable UNEG to respond to the needs of the Guayana region for specialized training of professionals, helping dairy modernization and validating technology for cheese production which has become an urgent need derived from Venezuela’s entry to MERCOSUR. | |
