Abstract
Energy efficiency has evolved from isolated proprietary domotics systems with partial or subsystem solutions, to interconnected networks of devices and systems backed up by lT infrastructures that approach the problem in a more holistic way. CeDInt counts on expert researchers on Ambient Intelligence designing automated systems to control energy consumption on buildings in order to improve its energy efficiency. With these systems we can diminish the expenditure of electricity water and gas on buildings that translates into economical savings and minimal CO2 and greenhouse effect gas emissions. In CeDInt we work on measure and control systems, and communication networks wired and wireless (both RF and optical) with special stress in the open systems. By interconnecting sensors and actuators within a building we are able to control loads and control the different subsystems (lighting, HVAC, appliances etc. ) with a more complete energy saving strategy. CeDInt has worked in the last few years in the design and development of solution elements based on open systems (open hardware and open software) that serve as support for the Ambient Intelligence solutions. These developments have been the technology base for the open IoT LAB deployed in the Montegancedo campus consisting of: • Demonstrator of intelligent Lighting (Smart Lighting) • Green LABs Project (in collaboration with CBGP) • Monitoring of electrical consumption in buildings • Monitoring of electrical consumption at home (Smart Home) • Demo/Showroom of integration with legacy technologies.

Abstract
The activity of the Virtual Reality Group in CeDInt is mainly focused on the development of virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, natural interaction and tracking, artificial vision, and visual analytics applied to problem solving and technological challenges in areas such as: security, surveillance, smart environments and personalized automated assistance, surgery, legal and forensic medicine, architecture and landscaping, and visualization of complex data to support decision making (for instance Smart Cities, economic factors, transportation, etc.).

Abstract
In CeDInt we develop specific optical systems for multiple applications such as solar photo voltaic concentration, solid state lighting or image formation. The research work made in the development of new photo voltaic concentration systems aim to optimize cost, tolerance and conversion efficiency of conventional photo voltaic systems. Research and development of advanced optics for lighting systems has been done with application to both interior and exterior lighting as well as optical signaling systems for automobile industry and special applications. Image forming optics is applied to improve projection systems, panoramic cameras for video surveillance (both visible and IR) compact telephoto lenses as well as personal 3D visualization systems. Research has been done also in sub-lambda high resolution systems. Also in development of next generation optical sensors (predictive maintenance of electrical networks).

Public key cipher (elliptical and hipper-elliptical curve, secure protocols for cipher and signature). Cripto-biometry specially based in iris and fingerprint geometry. Computer security. Medical imaging analysis.
