Resumen

Methodology for the creation of audiovisual material for teaching

Our own innovative methodology which provides a self-learning scalable and sustainable training in digital literacy through offline materials which are self-contained and personalized

Descripción Tecnológica

We develop audiovisual material focused on basic digital literacy skills, designed in co-creation with the target population: elderly people, immigrants, rural population, population in developed countries, etc.

Our methodology eliminates the need of training staff through easy-to-use self-learning material: students learn at their own pace and without a timetable., which clearly differentiates us from traditional courses where  training personnel is needed, and where students need to follow strict timetables and learning pace.

We commercialize the following products through UPM Technology Transfer  Office:

1)auditory services to detect population needs

2)consultory services where we propose specific formative solutions

3)development services of formative material

“Self-learning, scalable and sustainable digital literacy methodology. An inclusive solution for population in risk of social digital exclusion: elderly, immigrants, rural population, etc.”

Necesidades de Mercado

Public sector: basic digital literacy training in ICT, training for teachers in rural areas. Access to information through ICT for population at disadvantage, for instance: rural population, immigrants, unemployed women, elderly people, etc.

Industry:

Training for personnel without previous experience in TIC.

Companies that provide digital services and applications whose target are clients without previous experience in TIC.

Educational institutions (public or private): Institutions that provide online training or that distribute or commercialize courses and contents which are difficult to follow for students without previous experience in TIC, in order to increase their prospective target population

Potencial de Mercado

In 2018, 18.9% of the Europe population is over 65 years old, that is 142 millions of elderly people, 55% of which lack basic digital skills

Over 70 millions of elderly people in Europe lack basic digital skills

The percentage of population without internet access in the rest of the world is as follows:  63.8% in Latin America,  68,3% in the middle East and 88,6% in Africa, where we have been working for 13 years

It is estimated that in 2019 over 3.310 millions of people do not have internet access and, presumably, lack basic digital skills. This is a potential market for our products of over 3 millions of people

65,3% of the Spanish population between 65-74 years old are digital illiterates. The percentage is higher in the +75 years old population

Ventajas Competitivas de la Solución

Compared to other initiatives, our main competitive advantage is our SELF-LEARNING training approach where there is no need of the traditional dedicated teacher. This results in a scalable solution for digital literacy with a lower cost. A traditional digital literacy course costs about 3000€ per around 15 students, i. e., 200€ per student. The cost per student in the TechPeopleCare approach dramatically decreases as the size of that target group increases since the same materials, once developed, can be reused for each participant from the same target group.
