What is Helios?
The Helios system allows you to formalise your pre-enrolment in the University Masters Degree and PhD programs at the UPM. Through this system you can also enter both your personal and academic details, choose the postgraduate training programs that you are most interested in and attach all of the documents required to complete the procedure.
What is pre-enrolment?
The pre-enrolment is a procedure that allows you to apply for a place in the University Masters Degree and PhD programs at the UPM. The postgraduate programs make a prior evaluation of the candidates, admitting those who are deemed the most appropriate. What requisites must I fulfil in order to pre-enrol?

What documents are required for the pre-enrolment?
There are two types of document necessary to complete your pre-enrolment:
a) Personal: National Identity Number, Curriculum Vitae, letter detailing your reasons for wanting to study the specific course and a letter of recommendation (compulsory for some programs).
b) Academic: University degree together with an official report issued by the university at which you carried out your studies. You can also attach your qualification and Masters Degree certificate if you have taken the course.
In what format must I attach the required documents?
The files must be attached in 'pdf' format, and must not exceed 1 MB in size.
What process will my pre-enrolment follow?
Once your pre-enrolment is closed you will receive an e-mail stating the commencement of the process. In the first place the Vice-Rector's Office for PhD and Postgraduate Studies will analyse and validate your pre-enrolment, requesting any amendments that may be necessary. From this moment on, your application will go on to be evaluated by the program that you have applied for.
