Ramón y Cajal Programme
Description of Sub-programme
The principal objective of this Sub-programme is to strengthen the research capacity of R&D groups and institutions, both in the public and private sectors, by hiring of researchers who have obtained PhDs and presented a research strand to be developed. This will be done through funding that is gradually and progressively co-financed by recipient institutions that identify and specify their research strategies and the areas in wish they wish to specialise.
The sub-programme’s funding decisions are based on candidates taking part in a rigorous competitive process designed to guarantee the objectivity, scientific quality and merit of the selected researchers.
The funding awarded is intended to co-finance the recruitment of doctorate employees by Spanish R&D Centres for a five-year term, and covers all knowledge areas.
