8. Depositing the PhD thesis

The PhD thesis together with the documentation sent by the Academic Commission of the PhD program must deposited for a period of 15 days after being handed in for the authorisation for its defence.
The Academic Commission of the PhD program has to communicate the depositing of the thesis to the members of the Teaching and Research Staff of the PhD program. A provisional copy of the thesis must be made available to the PhD Commission of the UPM.

The PhD Commission of the UPM, by means of the UPM Web page, will make public the theses deposited at all times. The Vice Rector’s Office responsible for PhD studies will facilitate the procedures that must be followed for any duly accredited PhD Graduate to be able to peruse the theses deposited. Where necessary, the PhD Graduate can send in their written observations deemed pertinent, in a free format, to the Academic Commission of the PhD program, until the final day of the deposition period.

Should pertinent observations be made, the Academic Commission of the PhD program, on reviewing the content, can advise the PhD Commission of the UPM in writing as to the need to continue or suspend the process. There is a period of 7 days available to do this from the final day of the deposition period.
