Femtocells are low-power low-cost small cellular base stations that increase indoor coverage for 3G voice, conversational video and high-speed data services. They are an alternative way to take advantage of the benefits of Fixed Mobile Convergence, offering an ubiquitous user experience across all environments, and making use of existing personalized wireless devices. In this paper 3G-femtocell auto-deployments performance in residential scenarios have been studied in terms of capacity and grade of service, analyzing the requirements for a successful deployment of femtocells as a convergent solution. | |
