Descripción

This project has two main objectives extending the functionalities of ASSERT, a FP6 project whose main result was a model-driven process and a set of development tools for on-board embedded real-time systems. The first main objective is the development and production of a HWSW co-design Framework extending the ASSERT process to incorporate the HWSW co-design. This will imply the definition of a consistent methodology for the system HWSW co-design phase ensuring consistency between SW and HW design and verification and the construction of a prototype version of the tool support, HWSW co-design toolset, that shall be strongly compatibility with the ASSERT approach, process and tools. After this first stage, the project will experiment the developed HWSW co-design Framework on a case study that will be representative of a space application, will include a HW implemented function and will be exercised along all phases from system generation to system integration. (Si sobra sitio, añadir lo siguiente:) The role of the UPM team in the project is to provide assessment on the ASSERT project and the interaction of the HWSW Codesign concepts with the ASSERT Virtual Machine, a specialized platform providing real-time, concurrency and distribution services to on-board applications.
