This paper describes the simulation work made for a suburban railway administration as a support tool for the design process of a catenary system. The next paragraphs describe the modeling process and simulation techniques developed to obtain simulations of complete catenary systems concerning overhead conductor rail. It focuses specially on critical zones as overlaps, crossings and transitions between overhead conductor rail and conventional catenary. Also several results are presented which has allowed the railways administration to decide new design solutions as well as to analyze the current collection quality of already installed systems. | |
