| On Day 1 of the workshop we will provide an introduction to the workshop and lectures, and we will initiate training sessions using the WEAP Tutorial. We will also present talks on applications to demonstrate the types of uses that WEAP models may have. We will finalize the day with a session on how to build your own WEAP application to provide the opportunity for workshop participants to have an active role describing their own water resources challenges and needs for hydrologic modeling. Description of activities: On Day 2 of the workshop we will keep working with the WEAP Tutorial modules to have all the necessary information for the WEAP practical exercise that we will have at the beginning of the afternoon. We will introduce the hydrology module in WEAP and we will end up the day with a second session on how to build your own WEAP application giving the opportunity participants to split into teams and start working on their own applications with the support and supervision of the lecturers. On Day 3 of the workshop we will start with a practical exercise to reinforce the concepts about hydrology modeling learned previously. We will follow up with a lecture session where participants will have exposure to further uses of WEAP, and in particular to how WEAP can be coupled to other applications and models. We will then work on additional sessions of the tutorial and finish the day with a session on building your own WEAP application with the support of the lecturers. On the last day of the workshop participants will start the day working on their own applications and preparing a presentation on the hands-on experience of building their own WEAP areas. Each team will present their work to the audience and we will have a discussion about the applications developed. We will end up the day with a final discussion, a workshop evaluation and concluding remarks. | |
